Reaching out in Hong Kong

I'm in Hong Kong! Lecture phase in Switzerland is now over. Sad! Now I get to take what I've learned and put that into practice here on outreach phase! We arrived in HK on September 22, after a long night of flying. Being greeted warmly at the YWAM base here was a blessing. We all have adjusted quite nice and are still getting used to this humility. When you think of Hong Kong, you probably think of crowded city streets and sky scrapers. The pictures above look very different from that. Hong Kong is absolutely beautiful and almost like a tropical island.
Our main ministry here has been drug rehab centers and schools, something we felt in intercession times. Since we are a sports DTS, we have been blessed with opportunities to do many sports with the people from the rehab centers and schools. Some sports like soccer, ultimate frisbee, and rowing. I have come to love all three of those sports and want to look more into them when I get home. YWAM Hong Kong has an International Sports Association that we have partnered with, God is really using sports here in HK to reach out and spread His truth. The second picture is one of a drug rehab center that we visited that had been revamped. It took us a while to get there because we had to take a speed boat to get there! It was on this beautiful deserted beach front where you could see China from the windows of the rehab center. So far we have visited three rehab centers and one international school. Our main program is that we start with worship, introduce our selfs, then do a drama that shows how the enemy wants to keep us down but when we call on Him, He will save us. After the drama, a couple of us from our team will share our testimonies and wrap up with small groups. The school we visited of about 300 high school kids was the day that we leaders and I felt led to share my testimony/message to the students. It was a great experience to see young girls come to the front of the stage afterwards for me to pray for them and many others came up as well and prayed with my team. It was a touching day and we are invited again to come next week as well.
Another ministry that has been very touching has been with the local Hong Kong church in feeding the homeless down town. Every Tuesday the church goes out and meets with the homeless, brings them food, and shows them the love of Christ! Being with them, and seeing how this church was so dedicated to serving the people was incredible. It inspired my whole team and encouraged us with their passion and compassion. We are all looking forward to the next time we get to work with that church again.
I have seen God work in many lives just after being here only a week. When we allow God room to work and lead us, He moves in the hearts of His people through His tools, US! I love being Gods tool to reach others. I'm definitely excited to see what God has in store of the rest of this outreach, I know it wont be anything less than amazing and extraordinary! Be praying for our team, for the people we have met with, and for the people we are going to meet in the future. God answers the prayers of His people, I have seen that in my own live and many others. Thank you so much! Hopefully I will be able to get back on before I'm off to China!
